What’s been happening:

Geisce Ly, Ph.D. currently serves as dean at College of the Redwoods, Mendocino Coast campus (located in Fort Bragg, CA). In this role, Geisce is responsible for the overall campus operation and instruction. Geisce earned his B.A. in Social Ecology from UC Irvine before moving to State College. After graduating from Penn State in 1996 with a Master's in Counselor Education, Geisce worked at Saint Joseph's University, Cal Poly Pomona, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute before going back in fall 2004 to pursue his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at the University of Michigan. While working on his dissertation, he served as the Executive Associate to the VP for Instruction at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, MI. Geisce is knowledgeable about leading organizational change, building a high performing team, and engaging in political behavior. His is keenly interested in improving today's community colleges to better prepare students from diverse backgrounds to pursue and achieve their educational and career goals. He enjoys doing organizational development work, facilitating Myers-Briggs Type Indicator workshops, conducting staff/board trainings, and motivating others as a life purpose and leadership coach. His hobbies include traveling, running, playing racquetball, reading, and finding ways to make a difference in peoples' lives. His favorite quote is: "If not me, who? If not now, when?" He is as a board member of the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden. Dating for 12 years, Geisce is now married to his lovely wife, Nobuko Hiramine.
